I left my job (I know not financially sensible) but that was the only way I could say one big no instead of many small nos and heal my nervous system

Yea, some jobs are like that (including mine, I also left like you!). Hope your nervous system is doing better πŸ’™

Yes so much gold here - I would share the same having lived experience of recovering from burnout, these are absolutely my takeaways. Hard learnt lessons but has forever changed the way I approach work.

A neat little reframe I often use now is to mentally default to a No. β€˜No’ is the starting point and then I ask myself β€œwhat would it take for me to say Yes?”.

Wow, Fiona! That’s actually a really great reframe! I’m going to try and implement it. Thanks for sharing πŸ’™

I love the first strategy and feel inspired to implement it into my work life. I often rush through my to do list without prioritising. Now more than ever I try to remember that it’s a never ending loop of new tasks always popping up so it’s not the best approach. Strategy one sounds like a great way to avoid burnout and value my wellbeing more πŸ’›πŸ’›

I love hearing that, Karolina! During my chat with Nicole, I had to pause for a second because her insights are just so vital for women to hear. She’s incredible. I’ve left the links there if you want to reach out to her. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! πŸ’™
